ASCEND
The main purpose of this video is to explain how the history of increasingly diverse, commercial space is not being collected. It will explain how preserving corporate history has principled and pragmatic benefits. Toboldypreserve.space offers neutral guidance to assist firms as well as a large range of options including oral histories and archives.
Spring 2018 Conference
Funded by the National Science Foundation, this conference was hosted by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) in College Park, Maryland. The participants came from 66 universities, archives, museums, private firms, and federal offices in the United States as well as Bristol University in the United Kingdom.
One conclusion of the conference was the need to publicize issues faced by all areas of history – encouraging high quality “history from below,” effectively using new electronic technologies, preserving the widest possible range of materials, and educating a new generation of stakeholders about the importance of collecting their history. This website is our attempt to meet that need and help preserve contemporary history for the benefit of its creators now and future generations.
